Khabib Nurmagomedov (born September 20, 1988) is a Russian professional mixed martial artist of Avar ethnicity. Nurmagomedov is a two-time Combat Sambo World Champion and the reigning undisputed UFC Lightweight Champion. He currently holds the longest undefeated streak in MMA, with 27 wins, and remains undefeated in professional MMA. Hailing from Russia's Dagestan region, he is the first Russian to win a UFC title. As of October 8, 2018, he is ranked #2 in the official UFC pound-for-pound rankings. Abdulrashid Sadulaev (born 9 May 1996 in Dagestan) is a Russian freestyle wrestler of Avar descent. Nicknamed the "Russian Tank” he is the 2016 Olympic Champion at 86 kg, a three time World Champion (2014, 2015, 2018), European Champion (2014), European Games Champion (2015), two time Cadet World Champion (2012, 2013), Golden Grand-Prix Champion, European Nations Cup winner, Yaşar Doğu winner, Wenceslas Ziolkowski Memorial winner and Alexander Medved International winner. Sadulaev became the 2014 World Champion in the 86 kg class at age 18, and Olympic champion at age 20. Buvaisar Saitiev, also spelled Buvaysar Hamidovich Saytiev, (born March 11, 1975 in Khasavyurt, Dagestan ASSR) is a Russian wrestler of Chechen heritage, who has won nine world-level gold medals in freestyle wrestling. He is widely considered the greatest freestyle wrestler of all time. He currently is an acting State Duma Deputy from Dagestan.
